SIKALINDI

The first Ferilli eyewear Collection takes his name from Sikalindi (namely prickly pear in Griko dialect), the material that has been used to create the sunglasses. The prickly pear is a fast-growing plant that vegetates and quickly reproduces itself in a spontaneous way, and therefore it is classified as "infesting".

Thinning out and pruning procedures are periodically essential to limit an overabundant growth. Thus, the fibre needed for the sunglass production is obtained by a patented and completely eco-friendly  method of dehydration without the use of pollutants.

The Sikalindi won the Oscar Green award in 2013.

EACH PAIR OF SUNGLASSES TELLS A STORY

The collection is composed by a hundred and twenty pieces divided in three models - San Gregorio, Otranto and Porto Miggiano. Each model tells a story that is expressed by the colours of the lenses. The San Gregorio model, for example, speaks about breathtaking sunsets that can be admired from the homonymous bay located in Apulia. You can picture this image by watching through the blue and red gradient lenses.  But for those people who prefer a much more sober design, don't worry - they are also available with dark lenses. Moreover, our temples are entirely made by olive wood, creating a perfect bond between the two most representative materials of Salento (Apulia) for a 100 % made-in-Italy pair of sunglasses.

Each new collection will maintain a common threat: turning nature into sunglasses.

Nature takes shape to create a unique and naturally beautiful product.
